Are you interested in cool state-of-the-art technologies and patents? Do you have experience with video creation for the online coaching and consulting space and an amazing attention to detail?
Who We Are
The IP Link is a Canadian coaching and consulting firm specializing in patent assessment, preparation, strategy, and education. We are not a law firm, but help our clients file better patents that will have the potential to bring value to their businesses. Learn more at theiplink.com.
What You'll Be Working On
You will be editing our marketing and course videos. These include testimonials, marketing content, coaching calls, and course videos - typically focussed on how to better assess, strategize, and prepare for filing better patent applications. You will review raw footage, select key portions, edit them down to the highest quality and most effective sections (removing ums, ahs, and unneeded pauses), and improve the visual and audio appeal of these videos. Experience creating eye-catching thumbnails is also a bonus (please mention this in your cover letter if you have it and what software you use). For examples of the type of content you will be working with, check out our YouTube channel here. For examples of what you will help us create, check out Greg Hickman, Sunny Lenarduzzi, and James Wedmore’s videos.
What We're Looking For
You should be an expert on how to create videos that improve interest, engagement, and encourage viewers to take action (reaching out, clicking on a link, booking a call, buying a service, etc.). We will provide training and procedures on what is required in the final video at a minimum, but are looking to you to elaborate and expand on our minimum requirements to make the best videos possible!
At The IP Link we always look for team members that have a drive to learn new things, a hunger to be thorough (leave no rock unturned), and a keen attention to detail. Speaking of attention to detail, please include the following information in your cover letter (without this info we likely won’t review your application): a link to a short audio or video file of you introducing yourself, links to at least 2-3 example videos you have created, and the software you use to edit videos (including your operating system).
